Recently transplantation of the organ or tissue has been performed with increasing popularity throughout the world, and the immunosuppressive problems are a focus of troubles related to the organ transplantation.
Experimental study of renal autotransplantation was carried out in dogs at Yonsei University College of Medicine, and authors evaluated he technical problems with relation to the survival of transplanted kidney.
Operative technic of Murrary et al was used, and pelvic fossa was the site of ransplantation.
Histologic examination of kidney of living nd dead animals were performed, and their findings were compared each other.
In the survived animals, renal function was usually restored 7 days after surgery and their kidney showed no difference from that of normal in histologic examination.
In the dead, kidney showed acute ischemic necrosis in its parenchyma, and thrombus or constriction of renal vessels at autopsy.
Through this experiment, we concluded that technical improvement in blood vessel anastomosis and improvement of method in fixing the transplanted kidney will give better survival of animals with their kidney transplanted.
